# Decision Support
The tool for decision support is based on a multi-criteria analysis and serves the interdisciplinary evaluation of the supply situation. It captures the accessibility of everyday facilities such as supermarkets, schools, or doctor’s offices, considering individual weightings. In the background, the system calculates accessibility layers using multi-criteria methods and visualizes the results as color-coded raster maps, enabling quick assessments.
# Spatial Access
The Spatial Access tool offers an innovative method for supply analysis in healthcare. Using gravity-based approaches, it not only evaluates the accessibility of infrastructures but also their capacities. As a specialized planning tool, it was prototypically developed for the DVA in the outpatient sector to enable realistic and practical analyses. Analyses in other public service areas are possible but require specific background data on capacity.
# Statistics
Statistics in the DVA help maintain an overview: They show how well the population is connected to important public service facilities.
- Who cannot reach a facility within the desired time or distance?
- Where are supply gaps?
- Are there areas where many people live, who would benefit from a new service center?
- Which location is best suited for the site search?
# Scenarios and Simulations
Scenarios allow you to design the supply landscape as if on a drawing board. What happens when a new location opens? How does the relocation or closure of a site impact things? And which option is best if only two out of three locations are feasible? Such analyses help make informed decisions for optimal supply planning.
